Throughout my psychiatric 'career' I have never felt listened to. I know within this group I am. This simple act of respect is invaluable to me. You are not alone! I have met some of the most caring, intelligent, insightfull and resourceful peole I know through this group. Social needs and having fun are always the things which fall of the end when living with and managing the symptoms, stigma and restricted finances that having a mental health problem brings. People in this group know the value of a smile. Knowledge is power! I have been given practical solutions, emational/physical support and up to date information accross a whole range of topics/issues which were impacting on my life, not from the numerous 'professionals' involved in my care but from group members.
